As the Logistics Service Providers Association (LojiDer), on 30 July 2026, a delegation representing the logistics sector visited the President of the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK), Mr. Aşkın TÖREN, Vice President Mr. Uğur TUNÇ, Head of the Examination and Certification Department Mr. Fatih BİLEN, and Head of the Occupational Standards Department Ms. Dilek TORUN ALACA.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Logistics Service Providers Association, Dr. Kayıhan Özdemir TURAN; Board Member of the Ankara Logistics and Transport Businessmen Association, Mr. Halit EKİCİ; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Marmara Transporters Association, Mr. Halil KANAT; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Liquid and Bulk Product Transporters, Mr. Yusuf TETİK; Board Member Mr. Zafer AŞIK; General Manager Mr. Ayhan ÖZEKİN; and Executive Board Chairman of the International Transporters Association, Mr. Alper ÖZEL.

During the meeting, the sector’s requests and concerns regarding the compulsory Vocational Qualification Certificate requirement for Dangerous Goods Transport Drivers were conveyed. It was emphasized that this requirement may lead to increased costs in the logistics sector, create an unfair competitive environment in international transportation, further intensify the already significant shortage of qualified drivers in the sector, and potentially result in capacity reductions for domestic and national companies operating in dangerous goods transportation. It was also highlighted that this situation may increase logistics costs for exporting companies.

The potential negative impacts of this requirement on the supply chain processes of critical sectors such as fuel, chemicals, energy, and food were also expressed. The sector’s expectation that drivers holding valid ADR/SRC 5 certificates, which have been in practice for many years, should be exempt from the new MYK certificate requirement was reiterated.

The Vocational Qualifications Authority stated that opinions on this matter would soon be requested from sector-representative non-governmental organizations and relevant stakeholders, and detailed information was shared regarding the planning and implementation process.
