In addition to numerous association members, the meeting was attended by Şekib Avdagiç, President of İstanbul Ticaret Odası (ITO); Murat Hazıroğlu, ITO Board Member; Engin Özmen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Beykoz Üniversitesi; Rector Burak Küntay; Head of the Department of Logistics Management Prof. Dr. Ezgi Uzel Aydınocak; Rector of Topkapı Üniversitesi Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin; Principal Nurşen Demirkaya Aygün of İstanbul Bakırköy Nüket Ercan Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi; and members of the press.
Delivering the opening speech, LojiDer Board Member Ms. Şerife Türünç stated:
“We have worked diligently to serve our country’s economy, social life, and our sector; to support its development and progress; and to establish sustainable systems.”
Türünç emphasized that LojiDer, which brings together all service providers forming the logistics concept under one roof without distinction between international and national actors and acts with common sense, has achieved a significant milestone for the sector. As of 31 December 2025, LojiDer has reached 454 member companies from 35 provinces across all seven regions of Türkiye. She noted that their ultimate goal is to have members from all 81 provinces, representing logistics services carried out nationwide.
In 2025, LojiDer members generated a total turnover of USD 3.97 billion and provided employment for approximately 20,000 people, 22% of whom are women. Members also employ 17 female drivers.
Türünç underlined that intensive meetings were held with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Trade, and other relevant public institutions, and that close cooperation has been maintained with Chambers of Commerce and Industry, other NGOs operating in the logistics sector, and stakeholders.
She further stated:
“Through the algorithms established on our website, accessible exclusively to our members, we have enabled our members to conduct business among themselves.”
Highlighting that sector–academia cooperation is among LojiDer’s priority objectives, Türünç said that logistics education is highly valuable in training the human resources required by the sector in line with industry expectations. In this regard, the number of universities in Türkiye with which LojiDer has signed cooperation protocols has reached 19. The first international cooperation protocol was signed with University of Bradford in the United Kingdom.
Drawing attention to international activities, Türünç noted that LojiDer participated in the activities of European Logistics Association (ELA), Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA), Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı, and the Birleşmiş Milletler Avrupa Ekonomik Komisyonu Working Group, as the first NGO from Türkiye representing the sector to be accepted as a member. Bilateral cooperation protocols were also signed with logistics associations from various countries.
Türünç concluded her speech by emphasizing that LojiDer will continue its efforts with determination to build a strong logistics ecosystem together with NGOs from both the logistics and other sectors, as well as public and local institutions, acting with common sense to reach the level of contemporary civilization set by Atatürk and to be the voice of logistics services carried out in every province of the country.
ITO President Şekib Avdagiç, who attended the General Assembly, stated in his speech that despite having only a two-year history, LojiDer’s activities are remarkable and that the number of members reached within such a short period is highly valuable. He underlined that logistics services are an inseparable part of both domestic and international trade and are crucial for increasing Türkiye’s competitiveness.
During the General Assembly, the results of the “Türkiye Logistics Efficiency Index 2025,” developed in cooperation with Beykoz Üniversitesi, were shared. Conducted with the active participation of LojiDer members and supported by Pragma Research and Consultancy, the study measured the sector across seven core dimensions with the participation of 231 companies. The results revealed that while the sector has a strong structure in operational processes, there is still a need for improvement in risk management, sustainability, and regulatory framework areas.
Prof. Dr. Ezgi Uzel Aydınocak, Research Coordinator of the Index and Head of the Logistics Management Department at Beykoz University, stated that process efficiency is the strongest determinant of sector performance. She emphasized that risk management capacity, human resource quality, and technology usage need to be strengthened more systematically for sustainable growth, and that the Index serves as an important reference supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Information was also shared regarding the “Thematic High School” project planned to be implemented in 2026 as the first tangible outcome of the cooperation protocol signed with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.
The “LojiDer Education Awards” were presented for the first time at the General Assembly. Based on GPA evaluations of students studying in the faculties and vocational schools of universities cooperating with LojiDer, the top three students in each category were invited to the General Assembly. Board Member Ms. Nermin Önder congratulated the students and stated that the monetary awards had been transferred to their accounts.
After the presentation of the association’s and its economic enterprise’s activities and balance sheet for the period 1 January – 31 December 2025, the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board were discharged, and the 2026 budgets and membership fees were approved.
In his address to the General Assembly, ITO Board Member Murat Hazıroğlu emphasized that digitalization and artificial intelligence provide significant support to the logistics sector in terms of competitiveness and sustainability. He noted that service providers who fail to integrate digitalization and AI into their daily workflows and future plans may face challenging times ahead and invited all LojiDer members to a seminar to be held on 26 March.
In her closing remarks, Türünç stated:
“The sun rises from the East. Türkiye’s leading role within the Organization of Turkic States is undeniable. In this context, we have signed cooperation protocols with the logistics associations of four member countries. Our next goal is to lead the establishment of a Logistics Federation within the Organization of Turkic States,”
thus highlighting LojiDer’s primary objective for 2026.
The closing speech of the General Assembly was delivered by Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin, who made a highly valuable presentation focusing on financial matters.
