At the opening of the 1st Logistics Congress organized by the Logistics Service Providers Association (LOJİDER), LOJİDER President Dr. Kayıhan Özdemir Turan, DFDS Vice President Fuat Pamukçu, TİM Board Member and TİM Logistics Board President Başaran Bayrak and Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin gave speeches.

“WE ARE PRODUCING 2.7 BILLION DOLLARS OF VALUE AS LOJİDER MEMBERS”

LOJİDER President Dr. Kayıhan Özdemir Turan, who made the first speech at the opening of the congress, said that as LOJİDER, they are working with the vision of being a non-governmental organization that will contribute to the economic development of Turkey in the logistics sector and the mission of preparing the sector for the future. Özdemir, who stated that LOJİDER currently has 325 members from 7 regions of Turkey, said, “Today, we are producing 2.7 billion dollars of value as LOJİDER members.”

“We have become members of many international organizations in a short period of time and participated in many organizations. Özdemir, who said, “We have signed cooperation with 5 universities so far for the human resources our sector needs,” also provided information about the social responsibility projects they have carried out in his speech. Özdemir stated that he visited associations operating in both the logistics sector and other sectors and that he will cooperate with these organizations.

“LET’S HOLD THE DISCUSSIONS THAT WILL CARRY US FORWARD”

DFDS Vice President Fuat Pamukçu also started his speech by saying, “Today is October 30, yesterday was October 29 and we celebrated the 101st anniversary of our Republic,” and underlined the importance of the Republic’s achievements. Pamukçu, who continued his speech by reminding Atatürk’s words, “The one who loves his country the most is the one who does his job the best,” emphasized that we, as Turkey, should prioritize development and quality.

Pamukçu, who stated that the priorities of civil society organizations are to touch the hearts of association members and produce projects, said, “Let’s hold the discussions that will carry us forward. Today is a very nice first. I hope that LOJİDER’s first congress will be held in a festive atmosphere.”

“EXPORT IS ONE WITH LOGISTICS”

TİM Board Member and TİM Logistics Board Chairman Başaran Bayrak also emphasized the importance of exports in the country’s development in his speech. Başaran Bayrak, who said “Export is one with logistics”, stated that exports have increased by 51 percent in the last 10 years and that the logistics sector has passed an important test in this increase. Bayrak, who noted that we need to increase our customs and logistics capacity in the new period, touched on the importance of sustainability and intermodal transportation in logistics.

The final speech of the summit opening was given by Economist Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin. Speaking about current economic developments, Prof. Dr. Alkin also made statements about new trends in global logistics in his speech.
